What is DISTRKCT?
DISTRKCT is a 7,000 square foot multimedia co-working and production facility at 1328 Agnes Ave in Kansas City, Missouri. Inside you get three private recording studios, a podcast suite, a photo and video stage with a 24x14 ft cyclorama wall, a 15-station iMac computer lab, creative co-working, and a 4,000 square foot event venue.
It is built for people who produce on a schedule: musicians, podcasters, photographers, videographers, content creators, and brands who need professional gear and reliable space without the cost of owning a studio. DISTRKCT was founded by Grammy-nominated producer Joseph "Jo Blaq" Macklin.

The Founder
DISTRKCT was founded by Joseph "Jo Blaq" Macklin, a Grammy-nominated producer, songwriter, engineer, and vocal arranger who has worked at the highest levels of the music industry.
That experience shapes everything in the building: the rooms, the gear, the Audio Engineering Program, and the DISTRKCT IS Foundation, a 501(c)(3) that brings art, music, and multimedia education to Kansas City youth.
